Leveling up dice increases the POWER of the dice, contributing to the teams ability to give, deflect and sustain damage.

Evolving dice grants the dice a star (evo step), up to a total of five. Each evo step improves the skill of the dice, either by making the skill more powerful, quicker to charge, or gives it an initial charge. Additionally, each evo step grants the dice a substantial bonus to POWER:

Leveling up is achieved by spending gold (or diamonds). Evolving requires dice shards. Dice shards can be obtained from the Dice Hunt , the Daily Events, the Patrols, and the Shard Shop.
